Pride 2009

I hope that you will cut and paste the link above into your server, so that you can listen to this beautiful song by Mark Schultz, sung by Randy Glass and Jonathon Moon, and narrated by Andy Redeker as you read this post (cut your volume up).

My beautiful friend, Andy Redeker, was kind enough to post all the tracks from the singing group, passage's, CD--"for the journey" online on youtube.com. Though, sadly, the group is no longer, I know we were onto something very powerful--ministering to the spiritual needs of everyone, but particular the lgbt community. I was lucky enough to have the following singers in the group: Randy Glass (founding member), Jonathon Moon (founding member), Andy Redeker (founding member) and Rich Wassam (Cheyenne Jackson and Daniel Torres were also members for a shorter period of time).

At the Stonewall Inn on Christopher Street, there is a placque that reads:

"Let it forever be remembered that here--on this spot--men and women stood proud, they stood fast, so that we may be who we are, we may work where we will, live where we choose and love whom our hearts desire" June 28, 1969

I am forever grateful to those brave souls who came before me--who dared to stand up for who they were. Their heroism paved the way for me to be who I am, and gives me renewed courage to do the same for other lgbt folks who will succeed me. I believe that God intends for all of us to live abundantly, and to celebrate this miraculous gift of life. I think God wants us to be all we can be, and all we were born to be. In the spirit of Gay Pride week, I wish for all my brothers and sisters, but particularly for my gay, lesbian, bisexual and transgendered brothers and sisters the richest, most wonderful and most fully-integrated lives possible, filled with love--for others, and for ourselves. I am in awe of what we bring to the world--thank you for the beauty, the grace, the humanity and good will you bring to the world on a daily basis. You inspire me, and make me want to be better. With love and admiration,

Phil Hall
